RUTH MATETE WINNER OF T.P.F 5; WHAT YOU DID NOT KNOW ABOUT HER SOCIAL LIFE…

CHILDHOOD: my parents separated after they had me. I first stayed with my mother in Kakamega and moved to Nairobi when I was 8 years old. My mum became sickly and so she sent me to Nairobi to stay with my dad. Sadly, she later passed on. Since then, it has been my dad and i.
ADJUSTING TO CITY LIFE: when I arrived in Nairobi, I could only speak Luhya because I had not been to school. It was challenging to learn and speak good Swahili and English but my dad was supportive.
SCHOOLING: I went to Dr Krapf and Uhuru Primary School. Afterwards I went to Maasai Girls and St Paul’s Erusui for High School. I joined Daystar University in 2005 to study communication and I am graduating come 2013, which is next year.
RUTH AFTER WINNING SH.5 MILLION AND THE RECORD DEAL: Life has changed. People recognize me everywhere I go and many doors are opening. I thought my dream of being an artiste was very far, but is now within my reach. I also have a body guard, but only for one year (laughs).
YOU ONCE COMMENTED ON HOW HOT STEVE OF TPF 4 WAS. ARE YOU DATING: Not currently.
WHAT QUALITIES DOES RUTH FIND ATTRACTIVE IN A MAN: I love a man who smells good, is a good listener and appreciates music.
WHAT PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT RUTH: I have a phobia for heights, but I love wearing heels. I wear them everywhere. I am very cheeky. I once had a crush on Ken Ambani. I love red because I love attention. I am very daring and love to take risks.
PARTING SHOT: do not be afraid of what people say. You cannot please everyone and not everyone has your best interest at heart. Know what advice to take in and what to ignore.
